As she walked in for judgement..

The Chief Justice of India was taking way  too long on that last case  bieng heard in the chief court of the Supreme Court today.. Me a bit awed ..maybe a bit bewildered too..sitting in the respondents box ...waiting anxiously for  hearing on our case of that PIL vs Union of India...sighed... realising  that the Union of India has to wait wee bit longer...got up and walked out of the Chief court for a breather.  It was a sea of black gowns all around me .. Men and women of all sizes, shapes and age sailing around flashing thier black robes..everybody seem to be moving with an urgent purpose and pace..phew ! I just realised Kapil Sibbal and Prashant Bhushan rushed past me with same purposeful gait and pace...getting a bit suffocated.. I moved a bit away from the chief court room into the sun.. And sat down in a corner.. It was then that I noticed her.... Maybe it was her dainty tiny self that first drew my attn., in that Black Sea she was like a drop of fresh colours .. She was a contrasting breath of fresh air...she completely stood out to me in that black robed mass...She was hardly 7 yrs old and she was calmly sitting outside the court room snuggled in a corner reading her Enid Blyton. ... Her calmness and age both struck me .. She seemed to be.the most odd and unexpected guest in the Apex court.." Hi" I heard myself saying.. " hi there" she looked up from her book and gave me a long anxious  look. It was then that something in her eyes struck me .. They looked sad and way too mature for her age.. I was taken aback.." hey what brings you here" ? I asked .. " the judge wants to speak to me" pat came the reply...before I could react.. A young woman came closer to the child with a protective hand on her shoulder telling me " I am her mom.. I am fighting a custody case with my abusive and rich husband" .." I lost the case in High court and now my lil girl has been summoned by the apex court as a witness for final verdict on the custody case""..I am at the verge of losing my only child but we are going to fight it head tooth and nail .. Till the last moment...right baby"? She asked the lil girl who just nodded with a sad and blank look and snuggled closer to her mom. And as I watched the two of them walked together hand in hand into the  court room..I was sure whatever maybe the outcome of this case.. Ultimately the loser will be definetly this lil girl with big sad eyes.. She will walk out of that room with one parent lost..I sighed again and then moved back into the chief court as I saw the Mr......_ vs Union of India flash on the display board..it was our turn to be in the box now...
