Qarib Qarib Couple ...

Qarib Qarib Couple ...

They say "virtual world is an unreal world .. It doesn't always relate with reality".. True often true.. But sometimes this virtual world also  accidentally throw some odd surprises ..this online virtuality just accidentally at times do translates into an unexpected reality offline.... Something which is so untouchable or non belonging suddenly just comes alive and starts  falling into place.. Astonishing  not just the onlookers/ audiences but even the main stakeholders /players themselves.

Yogi ( irfan) and Jaya ( Parvathy)..are one such odd odd non belonging online bumpers .. The two are as alike as chalk and cheese  from each other..But both  are living a life that is apparently complete at the peril  but lonely from within.. Both are middle aged .. Both have lived thier lives before ... Both are carrying  the burden and marks of their past lives and relationships."...The beautiful part of the movie is both are shown to be so imperfect .. So real .. So believable but still so lovable in their own way..both carry the scars of their past with such élan and maturity..another thing which strikes you is the sense that they are lonely.. But not desperate.. There is a dignity in thier loneliness.. Esp Parvathy  ( Jaya) carries  her  loneliness so deftly in this one and with such class that it turns so attractive..

Irfan ( Yogi) is a riot in this one.. He is completely on a roll.. He knows he is out to have fun and he does it so effortlessly and with such spontaneity .. The road trip rom com gives him a floor to unleash his wit at its  glorious and cruel best.. His one liners .. Spontaneous punches .. Idiosyncrancies ... Crazy wit...All end up crackling u up .,but it's the warmth and genuineness of his eyes which also touches u in thier rare glimpses and peeps..esp when he takes that rare sentimental peep at Jaya ( Parvathy) now and then with his almost speaking eyes.. What I loved the most about Yogi was the fact that he seems to be lonely.. Yes.. And yes he is searching.. But he seems to be not just searching for flesh.. He seems to be also looking for a soul to put his soul at rest..that's Yogi 's USP for me behind all his craziness and wit..

U clearly get the sense that It's a love story between two adults who are not new to the game of love.. Like Yogi says to Jaya in a scene " humari story saath Jeene aur marne wali nahin hai

Jaya ( Parvathy) is all what Yogi ( Irfan ) is not .. She is quieter.. Lil introverted.. Classy.. Sophisticated.. If Yogi is  bright colours and bit loud .. She is all pastels and classy.. She is very withdrawn.. Though Yogi manages to get all the punch lines .. But she also takes the butt of all the Yogi's  cruel wit with such élan and grace.. He  pulls her leg mercilessly through out the road trip.. Ripping her prim n propah self apart..he seems to sadistically  enjoy shocking her.. The way he chuckles at her discomfort and the way she gets shocked but also can't help enjoying  his crazy eccentricity .. Is brought out in such a balanced way through brilliant performances by both of them .  Though he manages to get all the last laughs too.. But still strangely somehow inspite of her quieter and calmer demure   it's Jaya  (Parvathy ) who leaves a deeper impact.. She is like a breath of fresh air..in this era of heavily made up and glamorized main protagonists ..Jaya  comes across as so believable.. So real.. So imperfect.. But still so fresh.. She almost brightens up the screen with her warm eyes and bright smile..

With her dignified and calmer demeanor Jaya complements the restless and crazy soul of Yogi so well.. You almost  assume that probably she will put it to rest.. And as I walked out of the theatre I almost wished that this " Qarib Qarib Single " duo should surely end up as " " Qarib Qarib couple " twosome..
